I’m finding it difficult to come up with anything in particular to say about Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Krótki film o miłości. It’s a small movie that doesn’t attempt much that’s particularly profound or original, but what it does attempt it does well. Essentially, it’s a parable about two inadequate and doomed approaches to love in particular but real communion with other people in general, namely all mind and no body versus all body and no mind, with the deck stacked clearly in favor of doe-eyed infatuation over raunchy sex. (I jest. A little.) Nice, neat, with good performances all around. Short, too.
