Oy. I liked Excalibur a little when it came out 30 years ago, but it sure hasn’t held up. Or maybe I just have less tolerance for this kind of thing now. Silent movie title cards for dialogue, a cast made up of men who are practically indistinguishable from one another, more gleaming chrome than a vintage car show, and Nicol Williamson at his hammiest worst. Inept plotting and worse acting. And wall-to-wall Wagner and Orff chestnuts on the soundtrack.
